Professional Work Experience*
Chuck Logsdon
has nearly 30 years experience in researching and analyzing
Alaskan economic issues with a specialty in oil and gas economics.
From 1980 to 2004 he served as Chief Petroleum Economist for
the State of Alaska.
During
2005 and 2006, Dr. Logsdon worked in the Alaska Governor's office
as part of the public outreach team educating the general public
about efforts to build the gas pipeline from the Alaska North
Slope to the Lower 48 under the Stranded Gas Development Act.
His work included speaking to various groups in communities
throughout Alaska, preparing presentations, and acting as a
spokesman for the gas pipeline negotiations in all media, both
in Alaska and internationally.
Dr. Logsdon's
work for Granite Peak Associates has included reviewing Alaska's
role in the global competition for oil and gas development capital
for the Alaska Legislature, Legislative Budget and Audit Committee.
His review included implications to Alaska of the recently released
2004 Wood Mackenzie report Global Oil and Gas Risk and Rewards
During
his 25 years as Alaska's Chief Petroleum Economist, Dr. Logsdon
supervised a staff of four economists and was responsible for
production of the annual Revenue Sources book and forecasting
oil prices. Forecasts used a wide variety of modeling techniques,
including econometrics, time series analysis, financial and
economic feasibility analysis, market simulation, and modified
Delphi seminars.
Dr. Logsdon is very familiar with all aspects of both world
and Alaska oil and gas pricing fundamentals including pipeline
tariffs, marine costs, and marketing issues. He is an expert
in the Alaska fiscal system and has experience in evaluating
investments in exploration, acquisition and development of oil
and gas projects.
Dr Logsdon
has provided litigation support, drafted testimony, testified
as an expert witness, and aided the development of regulation
and settlement analysis in disputes over oil value. Over the
last 25 years he has also made public presentations on a wide
variety of oil and gas topics to legislative committees, interest
groups, and service organizations.
